Update: Chatsworth Hills Academy
Last Thursday, Tim and Michael made a Board Presentation on a feasibility study for Chatsworth Hills Academy. Currently, the school occupies 12.5 acres; this land includes the 4.4 acres of the site that was the subject site for the feasibility study. The purpose of the study was to identify whether or not the site can host a campus similar in size to the existing campus.
Interesting Fact: The site is on a potentially significant archeological site–the Chumash occupied the site at some point 800 to 1000 years ago. The exact purpose of the site is yet to be determined.
The presentation was well received. We look forward to more exciting updates about this project!

Sierra Vista HS Music Building featured in July/August issue of “Concrete Masonry Designs”
Concrete and Masonry Designs is a publication of the National Concrete Masonry Association. “The Design Awards Jury awarded the Sierra Vista High School Music Building an Award of Excellence because the concrete masonry is a star… According to the Design Awards jurors, the corbelled walls introduce a dramatic banding of shadows and light at the exterior walls, while enhancing the acoustical quality of the interior. In addition, the glass block filters in light beams of LeCorbusier’s Ronchamp Cathedral.”

Osborn is featured on pages 7-9; see below for a link to download the issue:

Juror Quote: “The shadow zone really helps the habitability both inside and outside, and is so integral to the architectural design that it becomes a defining characteristic of the project. There is a high level of architectural craft. It’s very strong at making spaces inside as well as very well-defined outside spaces.
